Prayer Shawl Ministry

Welcome to the Prayer Shawl Ministry!

Our mission is simple: to gather in fellowship, crafting prayer shawls infused with God's mercy, love, and compassion. Here's how it works:

  • We knit or crochet shawls, offering prayers with every stitch

  • Once blessed by clergy, shawls are given freely to those in need

  • Whether you're a seasoned crafter or eager to learn, all are welcome

  • Shawls are available upon request for various occasions or crises

Need a shawl or want to join us? Reach out to Pat at 214-616-3789 or stannshawls@gmail.com

Support our ministry with your prayers and, if able, financial contributions. Help us continue spreading comfort and love.

Together, let's wrap others in the warmth of God's embrace

Communion for the Sick and Homebound

Our mission: bringing Jesus Christ to our sick and impaired parishioners unable to attend Mass at St. Ann. Our team of lay ministers delivers Holy Communion to homes, memory care centers, nursing homes, and rehab centers.

Weekly, our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion coordinate visits, wearing masks and St. Ann Safe Environment ID Badges. They conduct Communion Services, including:

  • Penitential Rite

  • Sunday Bible Readings

  • Reflection

  • Communion Rite

  • Concluding Rite

For those unable to participate fully, we offer portions of the Host or a Spiritual Communion. To receive Holy Communion, email cshmin@stannparish.org or call 972-304-8545, ext. 6005.

Note: If the parishioner requires a priest to administer the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession) or the Anointing of the Sick (Extreme Unction), please call the parish office at 972-393-5544 to schedule a visit.  The parish office is open from 8 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday.

When the office is closed, the answering system will prompt you to press “1” for English and “2” for Spanish.  If there is an emergency which requires the immediate attention of a priest, the system will prompt you to press “1” a second time.

Funerals

We are here to help you with the planning of a Funeral Mass, and Reception following the Funeral. To plan a funeral, contact Liturgy below.

Good Samaritans

Good Samaritans Ministry is a goodwill organization designed to help our fellow parishioners. We work closely with the parish office to provide food and host, when possible, funeral receptions at St. Ann. This reception is complimentary to the bereaved family, thanks to the giving members of this ministry. Some volunteers donate their time by serving at the receptions, others by making or providing requested food. It all comes together with grace and love. Sometimes there are several days’ notice, sometimes less. Once we receive word from the parish office, all of our efforts are coordinated through email and Sign Up Genius. There are no committed meetings. You are welcome to help whenever you can. A second part of our ministry is aiding parishioners, who have no one else to turn to, by temporarily providing meals due to illness or unforeseen adversity. For more information or if you are interested in being a part of the Good Samaritans Ministry please contact us.

Respect Life

Join the Respect for Life Ministry in upholding the dignity of every human life! In less than a year, we've mobilized 24 dedicated volunteers, organized impactful fundraisers like Hiking for Life, conducted Baby Bank campaigns, and participated in Marching for Life. We also engage youth and adults in serving the elderly and offer prayers during Mass. Looking forward, we aim to expand our efforts with education and a Dignity of Life Apostolate. Get involved today to make a difference!
