Welcome to our 7th annual Trunk or Treat event and Chili Cookoff!
We love putting this event on for our young kids at St. Ann and they love it too!
When? Friday, October 27th
Where? St. Ann Center Parking Lot
Who? Everyone! This is fun for the whole family! Bring friends, grandparents, cousins, etc. The more the merrier!
FAQs:
1. What is Trunk or Treat? If you’ve never heard of Trunk or Treating before, volunteers will decorate their trunks and children will go trick or treating from trunk-to-trunk. This is a safe place for our kids to trick or treat. We will also have face painting, fellowship, a chili cookoff, and costume contests.
2. Is this event free? YES! This event is free and fun for the whole family! We do ask for a donation of a bag of candy if your family is trunk or treating. This helps us refill the trunks throughout the night. We don’t want to run out of candy!
3. Can anyone decorate a trunk? Yes, absolutely! We invite anyone from the parish to help put this event on for our young families! You can sign up below if you’d like to decorate your trunk:
4. Do I have to decorate a trunk to participate? No, you are more than welcome to come trunk or treat if you cannot decorate a trunk!
5. Is this an allergy-free event? Unfortunately, we cannot monitor the candy your children receive throughout the night. If you have a child with an allergy, we encourage you to check their candy before consumption. Parents are also required to stay with their children throughout the event while trunk or treating.
6. What is the Chili Cook-off? - Catholic Daughters of Christ and St. Ann Moms Ministry are partnering to have a Chili Cook-off at the event! Anyone is welcome to purchase hot dogs and bowls of chili (if you want more than candy for dinner 😉). YUM!
7. What is the bad weather plan? If we have rain or freezing temps, our Trunk or Treat event will be relocated inside the Assembly Room at St. Ann Parish. Volunteers will decorate tables (rather than trunks) and everything else will stay the same!
8. What contests/prizes are there? There will be a costume contest and a trunk decorating contest with prizes! Our contest categories include Best Group Costume, Best Individual Costume, and Best Trunk Decor.
9. What kind of costume can I wear? We just ask that you be mindful that this is an event for young children at St. Ann. Please keep it appropriate and modest: no gruesome masks, blood, or gore.
10. How can I help? Besides volunteering to decorate a trunk, we need multiple volunteers to make this event happen. We need: set up and break down volunteers, face painting, candy refillers, and traffic directors. You can sign up to volunteer at the link below.
We are also accepting donations in the form of prepackaged candy.
