CHMS Data Manager

General Summary of the Position:
The Database Manager oversees and manages the Church Management System database. This role is the principal project manager for database deliverables and implementing related training resources.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Essential duties include the items listed below, plus other duties as assigned.
Manage processes governing ChMS procedure and data integrity.
Actively research and review ChMS updates and documentation from the vendor to be the organization’s subject matter expert.
Assist the Director of Operations in shaping the overall development and support strategy for the ChMS.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and expected deliverables.
Responsible for producing data solutions including reporting, data migration rules, workflow management, or other detailed deliverables.
Ensures projects are completed on time and they meet the requirements of the stakeholders.
Reviews completed projects with stakeholders to evaluate challenges and lessons learned.
Provide advanced support of ChMS as needed for escalated issues.
Determine if a support request should be a project, based on time and resource needs, and manage the project backlog accordingly.
Develop guidelines to establish priority and meet response times.
Seek continuing education and ChMS community networking opportunities to promote personal growth and advance the overall capabilities of the organization.
Help maintain ChMS related documentation.
Develop and oversee training for staff and ministry leads
Expected to uphold confidentiality of all data, written, digital, or otherwise.
Oversee membership records in the database and perform scheduled database maintenance to ensure data accuracy, integrity and accessibility.
Continually evaluate and implement ChMS capabilities for more effective use by the staff, volunteer leaders, and congregants
Oversee ChMS Training Program for staff and volunteer leaders for the TouchPoint database.
Troubleshoot ChMS issues for staff, volunteer leaders and congregants.
Liaison with internal and external users.
Be driver for ChMS in general.
Evaluate all outside software requests to see if we can use ChMS for these features.
Education and Desired Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
Additional Business Analyst or Project Management training and/or certification is a plus.
SSRS Report development 2yrs.
Numerical analysis.
Intermediate knowledge of MS SQL Server operations and maintenance.
Intermediate experience with T-SQL scripting up to implementing basic stored procedures.
Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Experience with data driven application management, specifically church management systems, financial systems, and/or complex content management systems.
A working knowledge of Python, C#, and ASP.NET is a plus
MS Dynamics administration and support a plus

Must be an advanced MS Office user
